Strange day it was for me, walking thru weeds to find this old Lebeau Plantation House,, creepy and abandoned.. thought I saw a light go on and off.. Heard there are ghosts living there beneath all the dust, rust and cracks..
No human inhabitants since the 1980s. This plantation was used for hundreds of years.. the orginal owner died in 1854. Since then it has had several owners. In 1967 Joseph Meraux purchased the house and it has deteriorated badly since. Then restoration efforts were in the works when Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. The last I saw was an article in the paper last year it caught fire from homeless people. It is gone now,, so this is a great photo to have of it..
